LIGHTSTREAMER SERVER DEMO LAUNCH SCRIPTS FOR UNIX-LIKE SYSTEMS
==============================================================

The scripts in this directory launch Lightstreamer Server with the demo
configuration supplied in the "examples/demo/conf" folder, so that the
bundled demos can be run without altering the factory configuration under
the main "conf" folder.

-------------
CONFIGURATION
-------------

The demo scripts rely on the standard launch script LS.sh located in the
main "bin/unix-like" folder. To run the demo you only need to point to a JDK,
which can be supplied through the JAVA_HOME environment variable.

The demo scripts only add the setup of the LS_CONFIG environment variable,
which is used to override the default path of the Server main configuration
file with the demo configuration file in "examples/demo/conf".

-----
USAGE
-----

All the included scripts assume that the "bash" shell is the default shell
for the system.

- start.sh
- stop.sh

Shortcut scripts for the "run" and "stop" operations to be used to run
Lightstreamer Server in demo configuration. They do not require parameters
and can be invoked by point and click.
They leverage the LS_CONFIG environment variable to override the default
path of the Server main configuration file and use the demo configuration
file supplied in the "examples/demo/conf" folder.
These scripts can only be called from this directory.

NOTE on the "stop" operation:
In order to stop a running Server, the "stop" operation tries to access the
Server process through the JMX interface on the RMI connector; this requires
a few conditions:
1) The JMX RMI connector is configured and accessible.
If multiple credentials are configured, the first one will be used.
2) The Server has successfully completed the initialization of JMX.
If the Server startup is slow, it is possible that an early attempt to stop
   the Server will fail.
