Patsystems has selected Lightstreamer for new TradeMark platform

Milan, Italy -- June 7th, 2004 -- Patsystems (www.patsystems.com) has selected Lightstreamer as a core component of its new TradeMark platform, where it will provide fast and efficient market data distribution to tens of thousands of Internet based users worldwide as part of the TradeMark "direct to market" offering.

Lightstreamer is a "Push" engine middleware for streaming real-time data to web browsers and custom application clients. The architecture provides a straightforward means to rapidly deploy live data services, distributed through an existing web server infrastructure. With its unique 'Adaptive Streaming' capability it provides bandwidth management with individual user allocation and also network congestion management to eliminate data ageing.

William Todd (CTO) says "Lightstreamer gives us a proven technology that can address the critical management issues surrounding the need to maintain delivery of a meaningful service under wildly variable load conditions. Just as in a busy Pit, Traders instinctively screen out 'noise' to focus on the key signals, Lightstreamer allows us to dynamically balance priorities and keep scarce bandwidth resources focused on high value information."

"We are delighted that Patsystems have decided to adopt and integrate Lightstreamer within the TradeMark solution, where in a demanding environment it will demonstrate the performance and bandwidth management capabilities of our streaming technology" says Simon Walmsley (VP Sales & Marketing).

About Patsystems
Patsystems' trading applications are deployed by more than 40 futures and options brokers worldwide, including some of the largest and best known financial institutions, such as Fortis and Royal Bank of Scotland, who offer electronic trading to end-users such as banks, funds, and private individuals. Over 7000 customers transact nearly 650,000 contracts a day through Patsystems technology. Building on this achievement, Patsystems has invested over 50 man-years in development of its new TradeMark platform, which will form the basis of the next-generation, large-scale trading systems Patsystems' customers have planned.

About Lightstreamer
The Lightstreamer technology was originally developed for the Italian Finance market by the Software Systems Integration activity of privately held Par-Tec group (founded in 1998). Weswit Srl was subsequently created as an Independent Software Vendor to provide 'Push' middleware for streaming real-time data to web browsers and custom application clients.
