The project to consolidate the market data distribution through the Internet with Lightstreamer had a very short delivery timescale requirement of 3 months. Due to the open architecture, together with the System Integration activity of Sol-Tec and the MFICast integration middleware, this is being accomplished on schedule and is currently in the deployment phase.
About Gruppo Banca Popolare di Lodi
They are quoted on the Milan bourse, among the top 10 Italian banks with 3 Million customers and 950 branches.
Lightstreamer is a "Push" engine middleware for streaming real-time data to web browsers and custom application clients (through Client API Libraries). When used in conjunction with web browsers no downloads (Java applets, ActiveX, etc.) are required to implement a push connection and display live data. The architecture provides a straightforward means to rapidly deploy live data services, avoiding network security issues due to the use of standard HTTP(S) protocols without any form of tunnelling. With its unique 'Adaptive Streaming' capability it provides bandwidth control with individual user allocation and also network congestion management to eliminate data ageing. Currently Lightstreamer is compatible with the following browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and Deepnet Explorer. The Lightstreamer (Java powered) technology was originally developed by the Financial Systems Integration activity of privately held Par-Tec group (founded in 1998). Weswit Srl was subsequently created as an Independent Software Vendor within the group to provide Lightstreamer 'Push' middleware solutions for streaming real-time Market Data, or any live information to web browsers and custom application clients.
